Dr. Russell W. Chappius III graduated from the Pennsylvania College of Optometry at Salus University in May 2020. He received his Bachelor of Science in Biology from Salisbury University in 2016.
Dr. Chappius’ training consisted of internships and clinical observation at The Eye Institute and South Jersey Eye Associates, where he observed under Dr. Wuzzardo. He completed externships at Bear Eye Associates, The Wilmington VA Medical Center, and Dr’s Eyecare Center. In addition, Dr. Chappius completed training to fit scleral lenses and had Low Vision training during his final externship at The Eye Institute.
Dr. Chappius joined SJEA on July 1, 2020, as an optometric physician to practice primary eye care optometry.
Previously a resident of Bridgeton, Dr. Chappius currently lives in Vineland with his wife Ally, son Hudson, and dog Bourbon. He enjoys golfing, cornhole, going to the shore in Sea Isle City, and spending time with his family.
