Optometric Physician
Dr. Russell W. Chappius III graduated from the Pennsylvania College of Optometry at Salus University in May 2020. He received his Bachelor of Science in Biology from Salisbury University in 2016.
Dr. Chappius’ training consisted of internships and clinical observation at The Eye Institute and South Jersey Eye Associates, where he observed under Dr. Wuzzardo. In addition, Dr. Chappius completed externships at Bear Eye Associates, The Wilmington VA Medical Center, and Dr’s Eyecare Center. At his final externship at The Eye Institute, Dr. Chappius completed training to fit scleral lenses, as well as training in Low Vision therapy.
Dr. Chappius joined South Jersey Eye Associates as an optometric physician on July 1, 2020, and provides comprehensive primary eye care at South Jersey Eye Associates in Bridgeton, NJ.
Previously a resident of Bridgeton, Dr. Chappius currently lives in Vineland with his wife Ally, son Hudson, and dog Bourbon. He enjoys golfing, corn hole, going to the shore in Sea Isle City, and spending time with his family.
